ABSTRACT

The project entitled “Material Product Rate Analysis” deals with various levels of analysis.To study,analyze

the existing source databases of material management system.Collecting the Information   and           Business

Requirement and its specifications from the organisation.Study and understand the existing System information.

This Information becomes the basis for the rational decision making to  facilitate the decision making process.

The Decision support  system(DSS) was developed.

To interact with decision makers for analyzing their business plans and decision making the material management

company .Here we analyzed required Material needs for manufacturing the electronic devices and its order product

rate based measures.According to those measures the material management company maintains the systematic approach

to purchase (products) the material.The analysis process could start from the existing summary information of material

management company.According to that information we design the source database by using the erwin 4.0 tool generates the SQL

Schema for our required Erwin Designer tool.The Erwin 4.0 tool generates the sql Schema for our required ER-model and then loads the required data into the source Database.Now we are applying the Data ware housing concepts for the multiDimensional approaches  for designing the star schema of a cube, for  the multi Dimensional approaches for designing the star schema of a cube,for that we are using another tool is informatics.To define the ETL(extract,transform& load) process algorithm creating

cubes for multi-dimensional reports generation.

Then we implement the Online-Analytical process(OLAP)  for designing the business related reports to analyze (product rates)

total product rate,maximum product rate,minimum product rate and average product rate.

I  intend to do this project because my area of interest is in Dataware house.I am familiar about

the logics and terms related to dataware house.I am realy intrested in designing dataware house applications.

I just want to give some features regarding my project.

1)Provides update information about the issues with different status from high level to bottom level

2)Helps employees to complete the isuues with co-ordination and change the status  .

3)provides easy interaction between the employees and the administrators to know that the given

schedule is going smooth or not.

The technologies and tools used in my project are as follows

The system will be built on windows compaitable environment.The application will be web based using Data Ware housing web technology tools.

Data Base:-oracle 9i

Hardware:-pentium 4 2.0 GHZ with 256 MB RAM

Minimum system requirements to run the informatica server.

Disk Space  : 40 MB

RAM  : 512 RAm

Data base connectivity: ODBC drivers

Informatica repository:

Operating system   :windows 2000nt/unix

Diskspace:  60 MB

RAM  :  512 MB

Informatica Client Tools and Infomatica server connections:

To connect informatica  client to the….

Repository database, need the  ODBC connection for each sorce database.

Target Databases,need ODBC connection for each target database.

Informatica server,TCP/IP .

the Informatica client uses two software layers to communicate with each source,and target ,

and repository database.

ODBC drivers : native database connectivity software

APPLICATIONS AND FUTURE SCOPE:

This project is developed to support concurrent request and it  has no manage  multiple

request simultaniously.It is useful to keep tract  of data very securable and it should

not create any data loses.It allows us to create  the administrator for a project and

he/she can assign new data mart roles to the registered  database on a project.

This project can also be used in BANK to study and analyse the existing source

database of a BANK.

Remembering and forgetting,Storage of Data,Retrieving the Data,Power and Time,Panopticon(means -in global world internet is watching every one by means of camera’s are storage  ),Time/Decision, all these issues where discussed in a book called DELETE: THE VIRTUE OF FORGETTING IN DIGITAL AGE written by Viktor Mayer-Schonberger, Winner of the 2010 Don K. Price Award for Best Book in Science and Technology Politics, Section on Science, Technology, and Environmental Politics (STEP) by the American Political Science Association.

In the past the storage and retrieval of information  was limited. So if people want to remember they used to written down the things or they have to depend of human memory. As the time past, more and the more could me recorded, but retrieving the data in analogue world was still difficult.

Power and time:

There is a loss of power, as information about us is duplicated and reused , with or with out permission , and even negation of time . Among the issues are two terrifying possibilities, that perfect memory threatens reasons, abstract thought and the ability to make decision in the present, and that the reasons for retaining data now may seem sensible, but what if it should fall into the wrong hands in the future. Having clearly and concisely built a picture of the problem, form the early days of human history to the present, Mayer then turns to some potential solutions.

* Information privacy issues.

*Digital rights management.

*Effectively tuning search engines.

That is say, every piece of information, from files on your hard drive, thought your email and even your search terms and online purchase history is given an expiration date.  Up to this point we have been taken in, we are willing  to overlook the odd overstatement–information retrieval is easy for example.

After reading this book i came to point that most of the things which viktor mayer mentioned where right.

LITERATURE REVIEW:-

CLOUD COMPUTING implies a service oriented architecture through offering softwares and platforms as services, reduced information technology overhead for the end-user, great flexibility, reduced total cost of ownership, on demand services and many other things. Services and many more things.Possiblely people can have everything they

Need regarding information technology on cloud in future.
